You’re the one everyone counts on. The high achiever. The dependable one. Perhaps you are the super star in your team, the one that your parents rely on, the one your partner needs.
On the outside, you’ve mastered the art of looking like you’ve got it all figured out. People admire your strength, your work ethic, your ability to keep it all together.
But what about the inside?
Maybe, beneath the surface, you’re carrying the weight of anxiety, self-doubt, or exhaustion. You push through the days with a smile, but at night, the racing thoughts keep you awake. You’ve learned to hide your struggles because you don’t want to seem like a burden. You tell yourself, “I should be able to handle this.”
And yet, a quieter voice inside you whispers: When is it my turn? When do I get to feel supported? When do I get to slow down and just be… me? If you’ve ever felt this way, you’re not alone.
Hi, I’m Lorraine—a therapist based in Vancouver, with roots in Hong Kong. I work with individuals like you: young adults and professionals who are navigating the relentless pressures of anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and burnout.
Many of my clients tell me they’ve spent years being “the strong one.” They’ve achieved so much, but somewhere along the way, they lost touch with who they are beyond the roles they play. They feel stuck in a cycle of overachievement and self-sacrifice that leaves little room for joy, rest, or authenticity.
In our sessions, I create a gentle, non-judgmental space where you don’t have to pretend to have it all figured out. Together, we’ll untangle the patterns that keep you stuck and work toward a life that feels more balanced, aligned, and fulfilling.
Here’s what we might explore together:
You don’t have to keep carrying this alone.
Like many of my clients, I’ve walked the path of meeting expectations while slowly losing connection with myself. I started my journey studying business to meet family hopes—checking all the “successful” boxes—but deep down, I felt unfulfilled.
It wasn’t until I took a psychology course that something inside me shifted. For the first time, I felt aligned with who I truly was. That realization changed everything. I earned my Master’s in Counselling Psychology and have since helped hundreds of people reconnect with their authentic selves and build lives beyond pressure, roles, and perfection.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, I moved to Canada as a teenager. My dual cultural lens allows me to hold space with empathy and insight, especially for those navigating identity, culture, and belonging. I understand what it feels like to straddle responsibilities and expectations while searching for a sense of home within yourself.
Therapy isn’t about being “broken” or needing to be “fixed.” It’s about creating space for yourself in a world that often pulls you in every direction except inward. It’s about remembering who you are beyond the noise.
So many of us were taught to succeed, to strive, and to care for others. But we were never taught how to care for ourselves.
You deserve that care, too.
If any of this resonates with you, I’d love to connect here. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, lost, or just curious about what therapy might look like, you’re welcome to reach out. You don’t have to figure this out alone.
Let’s work together to help you slow down, breathe deeply, and build a life that feels more like you.
